We’ve officially turned the corner into the fall season here in the US Virgin islands and the Yellowfin & Wahoo run is in full swing. A solid showing of Wahoo to the south of St. Thomas was the focal point of our offshore charters in September, October and November. We expect a larger class of fish to show as we move deeper into the winter season, however Wahoo in the 20-35lb class were prevalent and provided our guests with plenty of grilling steaks to take home. School size Yellowfin tuna in the 25-50lb class along with Blackfin Tunas mixed in were also caught livebaiting along the drop-0ff, however high-speed trolling for Wahoo has produced the most consistent bite.
The inshore bite was steady throughout the fall and expect that to continue into the Winter months and new year. One of the more consistent Yellowtail Snapper and Kingfish bites we’ve had in recent years.
We hope you’ll get out on the water with us in 2021/2022 if you’re planning a visit to St. Thomas or St. John in the coming months!
